"What, not even a hello first?" Is the answer I always want to give when all I receive is this exact message. 

However, our babies start from around £2500. I appreciate we are not the cheapest breeders and we aren't the dearest either. 

We are firm believers that you generally get what you pay for and that quality, health, breeders going above and beyond and guarantees comes at a cost. X

I will always ask our families if they really understand if a Miniature Dachshund is truly right for their family. All their amazing good qualities aside, of which there are an abundance of obviously, I like to add some serious focus and give food for thought to:

1. They are known to be barky, can you cope with this?
2. They can be velcro dogs and often needy of affection and attention, can you handle working with separation anxiety if needed and possibly having your little 4 legged friend watch you in the bath and on the toilet?
3. What will happen when you go out, to work, on holiday?
4. They are stubborn monkeys at times, can be hard to train and can be very difficult to toilet train. Can you handle this?
5. Can you handle a breeder family who wants to build a relationship with you and stay in your dogs life forever?
6. Have you considered the cost of owning a Dachshund? Insurance being a key part of this question considering IVDD costs can be upto £10K.

Our waiting list is a little different, it is always open as we simply want the best families we can find.

Previous Woodlandax families will always have priority, following this, we ask everyone on our list to simply get to know us, message us occasionally, chat with us on social media etc and win us over, this is the key to the top of any waiting list.

We are in the Staffordshire area, West Midlands, United Kingdom and do not export our puppies outside of the UK I'm afraid. X

All of our puppies including ones for ourselves are endorsed against breeding with The Kennel Club as standard. We at Woodlandax are open to building a breeding relationship with some families if they commit to working with us and mirror our ethos. 

By this we mean, fully health testing your puppy and becoming council licensed yourself.

Once these have been completed with acceptable findings, we may consider removing this endorsement once your puppy reaches 2 years of age.

However, some of our litters for various reasons (eg contracts with stud dog owners or sentimental lines) can never have breeding endorsements removed. As every litter is different in terms of breeding endorsements, this question requires further conversations. X
